In Detail. This tool rest is designed for mounting directly to the bench in front of either a 150mm (6") or 200mm (8") bench grinder. In the face of the rest there is a slot into which the optional grinding jig (M0601) slides. The toolrest and the grinding jig can be bought as separate items or, if preferred, as a pair with a useful cost saving.
The 120 works very well on bevels and approximates the total set up and grinding time of my T2000. However, free hand grinding to specific degree is beyond my present skill set. But, the freedom of doing it by hand really helps maintain the wear on my stones. The Sig 120 is smallish so the Veritas jig won't work so well.

30 Oct 2007. #9. I too use the Veritas jig with a cheapo grinder, and find it excellent, except for one problem. My grinder has a white, 40mm wide wheel. The jig table is designed to slot "over" the wheel ( see the pics on the first post - you'll see what I mean). However, this only works for wheels upto 25mm.
